What's New Important deadline approaching for Financial Planner title users in Ontario The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) has issued a reminder that the March 28 deadline is approaching for individuals using the “Financial Planner” title in Ontario who do not hold a FSRA-approved credential. This deadline marks the end of the transition period under Ontario’s Financial Professionals Title Protection framework. Under Ontario’s Financial Professionals Title Protection framework (FPTP), individuals using the titles Financial Planner or Financial Advisor must hold a credential issued by a FSRA-approved credentialing body. After March 28, 2026, individuals who do not hold an approved credential will no longer be permitted to use the Financial Planner title in Ontario.
